As Marvel prepares to embark on Phase Two of its Cinematic Universe with the release of Iron Man 3, the studio’s animated arm is gearing up to launch its own new wave of programming with two shows – Avengers Assemble and Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. – set to join Disney XD’s Marvel Universe programming block this year. With their premieres fast approaching, MarvelKids.com has launched sub-sites for both cartoons which offer up a host of details, including promotional artwork, character bios for all of the main players, and two updated synopses:
“Marvel’s Avengers Assemble – With an all-star roster consisting of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Falcon and, occasionally–when she feels like it and only when she feels like it–Black Widow, the Avengers are a team in the truest sense. The Avengers save the world from the biggest threats imaginable–threats no single super hero could withstand.”
“Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. – Hulk smash! The biggest, hardest-hitting hero in the Marvel Universe stomps into his own series as the star of Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.! Joined by his larger-than-life teammates who double as an unlikely family, Hulk tackles threats that are too enormous for any other heroes to handle. In his battle against evil, Hulk is joined by the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. — sensational She-Hulk, the irascible Red Hulk, the exuberant A-Bomb and the savage Skaar. What does S.M.A.S.H. stand for? They’re Hulks — whatever they want!”
Marvel’s Avengers Assemble will premiere on May 26th with a one-hour preview before debuting in a regular Sunday slot from July 7th, while Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. is set to get underway on August 11th.
