Back in September of last year, Disney acquired the distribution rights to Indiana Jones, clearing the way for the House of Mouse to put its other Lucasfilm property to use by producing and distributing new movies based around the archeologist and adventurer.
Of course, this fuelled speculation that Harrison Ford could don the fedora once again for the long-rumoured Indiana Jones 5, although Disney CEO Bob Iger subsequently revealed that any Disney-produced Indiana Jones movie was at least two to three years away.
Well, Bob Iger has once again addressed the possibility this weekend, with Variety’s Marc Graser quoting Iger as saying that “we’d love to make another Indiana Jones movie but we’re pacing ourselves right now” and concentrating on launching Star Wars first.
So, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Wars: Episode VIII, Star Wars: Episode IX and two to three standalone Star Wars movies all in the works, it seems we may waiting some time before Indy is back on the big screen, and with Harrison Ford not getting any younger perhaps we’ll be seeing another actor in the role too..?
