Film Independent has announced the nominations for the 31st annual Spirit Awards, which celebrates the very best in American independent film. Leading the pack with six nominations is Todd Haynes’ Carol, which will contest the Best Picture award against Anomalisa, Beasts of No Nation, Spotlight and Tangerine.
