Warner Bros.’ feature film division may be struggling to get its DC Comics plans in motion, but when it comes to the small screen, we’re bracing ourselves for an influx of DC-based shows.
Alongside Arrow, numerous pilots from DC Comics and its imprints are in various stages of development, including The Flash, Gotham, Constantine, iZombie, Hourman, DMZ, Preacher , The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and FBP: Federal Bureau of Physics. And now we can add another to the list…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, WGN America is working on an adaptation of writer Jason Aaron and artist R.M. Guera’s acclaimed crime noir Scalped. The pilot will be written by Doug Jung (Banshee), who will also executive produce.
Scalped ran for 60 issues between March 2007 and August 2012 and focusses “on the Oglala Lakota inhabitants in the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation in South Dakota as they grapple with organized crime, poverty, drug and alcohol addiction and local politics while trying to preserve their cultural identity.”
