Emily Blunt is an actress that has flirted with the idea of working in comic book movies for some time now. She was first in line to play Black Widow in Iron Man 2 but couldn’t commit due to her schedule for Gulliver’s Travels, and she turned down the role of Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger. But according to some sources online, Blunt may be heading to the land of comic book movies, but for DC rather than Marvel.
According to Spanish site elmulticine.com, Blunt is currently in talks with Warner Bros to take on an currently unnamed role in their upcoming superhero crossover Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. It’s worth pointing out that El Multicine is not a reputable source, but a lot of thoughts from those “close to the situation” think there is some truth behind this.
Emily Blunt stars in Edge of Tomorrow which is currently in cinemas.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release on May 6th 2016, and is directed by Zack Synder with Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman appearing alongside returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), in addition to newcomer Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), and Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
