After a brief flurry of official news ahead of principal photography, Warner Bros. and director Zack Snyder appear to have shut up shop while cameras roll on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but thankfully we’ve got the good old rumour mill to help us through the dry spell.
Coming hot on the heels of unconfirmed reports linking Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow) to a role in the Man of Steel sequel, it’s now being rumoured via Batman-on-Film that Commissioner Jim Gordon will make an appearance in the film. It is of course entirely plausible – if not expected – that Gordon could feature in Batman v Superman in some capacity, especially if we’re spending much time in Gotham City. However, it should also be noted that BoF has been the source of plenty of speculation about this film, and doesn’t even sound too convinced by its own rumour this time around. So, maybe we need to take this one with a pinch of salt until we hear something official…
Now… how long until we get our first Bryan Cranston casting rumour? I’m guessing no more than 24 hours.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release on May 6th 2016, and is directed by Zack Synder with Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman appearing alongside returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), in addition to newcomer Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), and Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
