With Transformers: Age of Extinction just around the corner and Paramount announcing that both Transformers 5 and G.I. Joe 3 will hit in 2016, the question of a potential crossover between the two Hasbro toy properties has once again reared its head… although according to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever get to see Transformers vs. G.I. Joe playing out on the big screen:
“No, we haven’t spent a moment on it,” the producer tells MTV (via CBM). “I know they did it in the comic books, but I think the reality that we’re looking at is…it’s hard enough to figure out how to do it alone and [then] trying to figure out how to do it together…I don’t think that it’s as organic as people think. I know a lot of the fans feel that way and I don’t think they’re wrong. I find it a harder thing to do, think about trying to combine the schedules of all the different people. So, that alone will probably stop us.”
Are you disappointed that we’ll probably never get to see a Transformers / G.I. Joe crossover?
