Coming hot on the heels of the news that Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks) has signed on to appear as Skye’s father in season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., TV Line has revealed that Henry Simmons (NYPD Blue) has also secured a recurring role as Agent Alphonso “Mac” Mackenzie, a mechanic in his early 30s.
Simmons in the latest in a line of newcomers to the cast of the show for its second season, with other additions including Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) as Isabel Hartly, Reed Diamond (Dollhouse) as Daniel Whitehall, Nick Blood (Trollied) as Lance Hunter and Simon Kassianides (Quantum of Solace) as Bakshi.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season two will get underway on September 23rd, with Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), Ming-Na Wen (Melinda May), Chloe Bennet (Skye), Iain De Caestecker (Leo Fitz), Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons), Brett Dalton (Grant Ward), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), J. August Richards (Deathlok) and B.J. Britt (Antoine Triplett) all returning to the cast.
