Now that Quentin Tarantino has decided to move full steam ahead with The Hateful Eight – even going so far as to release a teaser trailer, which you can watch here – it’s being reported by Collider that the director is looking to add some Oscar-winning talent to the cast, with Jennifer Lawrence (Silver Linings Playbook, The Hunger Games) said to be in negotiations to join the Western.
Assuming Tarantino’s rewrites of the script haven’t added any major characters, then Lawrence will presumably be wanted for either Daisy Domergue or Six Horse Judy, who were portrayed by Amber Tamblyn and Zoe Bell during the live-script read of the screenplay a few months back.
As yet, we’ve heard nothing about the official cast for The Hateful Eight, although Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Walton Goggins, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, Bruce Dern, James Remar, James Parks and Denis Menochet were all part of the script read, so expect to see at least some of them involved.
