It looks like the short-lived live-action incarnation of The Tick could be set for a return courtesy of Amazon’s streaming service, with People reporting that Patrick Warburton has signed a deal with Sony and Amazon and will once again don the antennae with creator Ben Edlund writing and producing.
The Tick was created by Edlund in 1986 as a spoof of superheroes, and gained mainstream popularity with The Tick: The Animated Series, which ran on Fox Kids for three seasons between 1994 and 1996. The live-action series began in 2001, with Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) directing the pilot, but it ran for just nine episodes.
