According to Journal de Montreal (via CJAD), the X-Men will be returning to Montreal for 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse, with 20th Century Fox set to open a production office for the next instalment in the mutant Marvel series next month. Set construction is reportedly due to get underway in December, with cameras starting to roll in April. This would be the second X-Men movie to shoot in Montreal after this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Bryan Singer is currently attached to direct Apocalypse, with a cast that so far includes James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine). It has been reported that Channing Tatum (22 Jump Street) may appear as Gambit, while Singer has teased the reintroduction of characters such as Nightcrawler, Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27th, 2016.
