Having announced its DC Cinematic Universe through to 2020, it appears that Warner Bros. is wasting little time in establishing a cohesive world for its various comic book properties with Deadline reporting that Jesse Eisenberg is in talks to reprise the role of Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in fellow 2016 release Suicide Squad.
If you’re unfamiliar with Suicide Squad, the comic book series follows the exploits of a team of supervillains who are coerced by Amanda Waller and the government into taking on dangerous ‘suicide’ missions in order to shave time from their prison sentences.
David Ayer (End of Watch, Fury) is set to direct Suicide Squad, while Warner Bros. is said to be looking at the likes of Will Smith (After Earth), Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises) and Ryan Gosling (Drive) for roles.
