Thanks to its strong performance in China, Marvel’s space opera Guardians of the Galaxy has now passed the $700 million mark at the global box-office, with the Phase Two film currently just shy of The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s haul of $707.9 million with $705.1 million to date. It looks certain now that Guardians will overtake Spider-Man and fellow MCU release Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($713.9 million), while X-Men: Days of Future Past’s $747.9 million is still a possibility.
