It’s fair to say that the announcement of Paul Feig’s all-female Ghostbusters cast has split opinions. While some are celebrating this bold, modern movement in Hollywood, others are calling it a further “raping” of their childhood.
In the days since the reveal, we’ve heard original Ghostbuster Ernie Hudson speaking negatively about it (and then changing his mind) and his co-star Dan Aykroyd celebrating the decision. Well, now billionaire and US Apprentice hirer and firer Donald Trump has taken to Instagram to way in on the situation – as well as his thoughts on the future of the Indiana Jones franchise with the rumours of Chris Pratt taking over.
“They’re remaking Indiana Jones without Harrison Ford! You can’t do that! And now they’re making Ghostbusters with only women! What’s going on?!”
Trump did feature in the music video for Bobby Brown’s On Our Own, which was on the Ghostbusters 2 soundtrack. So maybe he’s better placed to give this views on this topic than we give him credit for.
Ghostbusters is set for release on July 22nd 2016, with a cast that includes Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids), Melissa McCarthy (The Heat), Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live) and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live).
