Back in October DC fans got the news they’d been waiting for as Warner Bros. announced a slate of DC superhero movies through to 2020, one of those being Shazam, starring Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. Announced for 2019, The Rock has now hinted that we may get to see Captain Marvel on the big screen sooner than expected.
“It may happen a little earlier than what has been predicted,” Johnson told MTV this past weekend at the Oscars. “The script is coming in, it’s great, and the support from the studio has just been great. [It’s] a great opportunity, especially with Black Adam where you can take a guy who starts off as a bad guy turns into an anti-hero. We can make it vicious, with a little bit of winking charm.”

Assuming the release date isn’t brought forward, Shazam will hit cinemas on April 5th 2019.
