A few days ago Dwayne Johnson shared some thoughts on his role as Black Adam in Warner Bros.’ Shazam movie and the possibility of the character joining the Justice League at some point in the future, and now the Furious 7 star has offered up another update on the progress of the 2019 DC feature during an interview with MTV News.
“We haven’t picked a Shazam yet. We have been working on the script. Half the script’s already come in. Fantastic. I’m very excited about it. And what I’m really excited about is – because I’ve lived with this character and this opportunity for almost 10 years now, so it’s like, in my DNA – I’m like a little kid, and it’s the opportunity to create his journey, but that journey has to start out properly. And starting off properly is [Black Adam] not being a hero. That’s got to be earned. So he starts off as a slave. And he’s pissed off, and people are going to pay. But eventually down the line he’ll become an anti-hero.”
Shazam is set for release on April 5th 2019.
