During a press conference for his latest film, the disaster flick San Andreas, Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that he’s set to return to the role of Hobbs for the eighth instalment of the blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise, as well as addressing speculation about a possible spinoff movie for his character.

“Of course [I’ll be back for Fast & Furious 8],” he said. “It can’t go on without Hobbs… We all are interested in [a spinoff movie]. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we’ll see. I still think for me personally we’ve created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That’s my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input.”
