Green Lantern reboot may include Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner

June 24, 2015 by James Garcia

Fans (and reporters) have long been speculating that the upcoming Green Lantern reboot will focus on John Stewart rather than Hal Jordan (who was the focus of the middling 2011 film with Ryan Reynolds), but a new rumor suggests that maybe we’ve been thinking too small. According to Collider, the film could focus on not one, not two, but three human members of the Green Lantern Corps: Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner.

That would effectively make it more of a Green Lantern Corps. film than a solo GL movie, which seems to be the trajectory for the franchise moving forward. Of course, the reboot doesn’t even arrive until 2020, so anything could change, but Collider’s sources state that that’s the current plan for the emerald Power Ring-wielding heroes.

With San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner, and two Justice League films on the DC slate between now and 2020, it’s very possible that we’ll be getting casting news – for one or all of the Green Lanterns – in the near future.

In the meantime, let us know how you feel about this new rumor in the comments below.

Green Lantern will arrive on June 19, 2020.
