Well, this one could be quite out of left field. But then many people thought that about Spider-Man joining The Avengers.
The chaps over at Cosmic Book News have reportedly unearthed some information that suggests Marvel are trying to make amends with 20th Century Fox to bring together The Avengers and X-Men into the same Universe for a team-up movie of biblical proportions.
The alleged source of the rumour also suggests that this announcement will be made at next year’s San Diego Comic Con. Which allows for enough time for people to forget about this rumour if nothing ever comes of it. Take with a pinch of salt for now.
The X-Men will be back on the big screen next year with X-Men: Apocalypse which is set for release on May 19th, 2016 in the UK and May 27th, 2016 in the States, with Bryan Singer directing a cast that includes X-Men veterans James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Evan Peters (Quicksilver), Rose Byrne (Moira MacTaggert) and Lucas Till (Havok) along with newcomers Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as Apocalypse, Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan (Mud) as Cyclops, Alexandra Shipp (House of Anubis) as Storm, Kodi Smit-McPhee (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Nightcrawler, Ben Hardy (EastEnders) as Angel, Olivia Munn (Magic Mike) as Psylocke and newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee.
