Joaquin Phoenix set for third collaboration with M. Night Shyamalan

August 26, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Joaquin Phoenix is in talks to star in a new film for director M. Night Shyamalan, which will mark the third time the two have worked together.

The new project, which will film in Philadelphia, will see Shyamalan also reunite with producer Jason Blum (Insidious), who he worked with on the upcoming film The Visit.

Deadline states that the new film will work on a smaller-scale budget than some of the bigger movies in Shyamalan’s filmography, closer to that of The Visit which cost around $5 million.

Shyamalan and Phoenix previously collaborated on two films in the 2000s – Signs (2002) and The Village (2004).
