Sam Mendes says “Bond has been rebooted” for Spectre

August 15, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Following on from the latest featurette focussing on the women of Spectre [watch it here], Entertainment Weekly caught up with director Sam Mendes, who suggested that Bond “has been rebooted” with Skyfall, and the upcoming 24th adventure will explore 007’s origin story.

“Bond has been rebooted at the end of the movie,” states Mendes. “This is only the beginning of the story. The Bond creation myth never happened. I felt there was an opportunity there: What made him? And who were the people who affected him along the way? You’re sort of telling the story backwards of how Bond became Bond.”
