Over the past few weeks we’ve heard a lot of speculation about Man of Steel 2, with some sites reporting that the follow-up to Zack Snyder’s 2013 Superman movie is on indefinite hold, and others claiming to have the inside track on the film’s potential director and supporting characters.
While those reports all smack of guesswork, Snyder has been speaking to Canoe about the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, stating that the DC ensemble is essentially Man of Steel 2:
I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2,” states Snyder. “Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.”

Snyder also went on to touch upon the two-part Justice League movie, which he is slated to direct after Batman v Superman:
“We really have to figure out the why of them. And I think that we have. That’s the one thing that’s cool to me about Batman v Superman, it’s all about the mythology of these two massive icons. And I think that’s compelling.”
