It was heavily rumoured prior to the announcement of Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker that Miles Morales would feature as Spider-Man in the new MCU-branded reboot of the character (some even claimed they were 95% sure he would). Many fans were in fact quite upset that Morales was pushed aside in favour of “another white Spider-Man”. But does Holland’s casting mean we’ll never see Morales put on the Spidey suit? Well, director Jon Watts is certainly teasing the idea.
“I can’t talk about that, because, you know, that will reveal too much,” he told Yahoo! News about Miles Morales featuring in his Spider-Man movie. “We’re still writing the story… we haven’t finished all the way through the story yet, so who knows.”
That’s not a definite ‘no’, but it could also just be Watts teasing us with the possibility. Perhaps he could just be there as a fancy Easter Egg.
