Deadline is reporting that New Zealand actor Joe Naufahu (Spartacus: Vengeance) has signed on for a recurring role in the sixth season of Game of Thrones, although details of his character are being kept under wraps.

Season six of Game of Thrones will get underway in the Spring, with other newcomers to the cast including Ian McShane (Deadwood), Max von Sydow (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Pilou Asbæk (Lucy) and Essie Davis (The Babadook). Freddie Stroma (UnREAL), James Faulkner (X-Men: First Class), Samantha Spiro (From Hell) and Rebecca Benson (Macbeth) will also play the Tarly family.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the spring.
