Having surpassed the $1 billion mark in record time yesterday, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has now ticked off another milestone, with the seventh instalment becoming the highest-grossing entry in the Star Wars saga.
The Force Awakens has now pulled in $1.09 billion and counting, overtaking the $1.027 billion of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. However, this does not account for inflation, and adjusted the film still trails all three chapters of the Original Trilogy, as well as The Phantom Menace.
