As The CW gears up to launch its latest Arrowverse series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow this Thursday and with ABC giving the green light to the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Marvel’s Most Wanted, IGN has been speaking to Fox Chairman and CEO Gary Newman about the possibility of the network expanding the world of its Batman prequel series Gotham.
“We’re really happy with the creative on Gotham this year,” replied Newman. “We thought the Rise of the Villains has been great, and it feels like a world that has many, many stories to tell. We haven’t had any conversations with Warners about whether or not they’d want to do a spinoff series. I think that would be an issue for DC. It isn’t quite clear to me that they’d be ready to do that, but it’s a good idea.”
Gotham does have another DC-related project set to arrive this month in Lucifer, while it’s also developing an X-Men series with Marvel entitled Hellfire, although that appears to have been pushed back to next season.
