Netflix has found its Count Olaf for A Series of Unfortunate Events, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) is set to follow in the footsteps of Jim Carrey in the upcoming TV series.
The series is set to be directed by Brad Silberling, who also helmed the 2004 movie, while Daniel Handler – author of the book series under the pen name of Lemony Snicket – will serve as executive producer.
A series of Unfortunate Events follows three orphans – Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire – who find themselves in the clutches of their villainous uncle Count Olaf, who has designs on their family fortune. The series consists of 13 novels, and have sold over 60 million copies.
