20th Century Fox made a lot of people happy when it granted director Tim Miller, star Ryan Reynolds and company the go ahead for an R-rated take on Deadpool, which the MPAA confirmed this week, classifying the movie with “strong violence, language, sexual content and graphic nudity”.
However Comic book writer and YouTuber Grace Randolph, who has written for both Marvel, DC and and Boom! Studios in the past, has launched a petition for Fox to release a PG-13 cut of the X-Men spinoff in addition to the R-rated one to allow younger viewers to enjoy the Merc with a Mouth’s big screen outing.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
