Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad outpacing Marvel by 500% on social media interest

February 1, 2016 by Gary Collinson

If social media engagement is any indication, 2016 is going to be a huge year for Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe, with Variety reporting that tracking across Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube and Wikipedia puts Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad a whopping 500% ahead of the superhero competition at the same point pre-release.

In addition to the DC Extended Universe released, we have a further four comic book movies set to arrive in 2016; Fox is set to deliver the X-Men spinoff Deadpool next week, as well as X-Men: Apocalypse in May, while Marvel Studios kicks off Phase Three in May with the release of Captain America: Civil War, followed by Doctor Strange in November.
