Since the very first trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans have had theories about the shots with a seemingly alternate reality where Superman rules over the world, and Batman is forced to wear a jacket in a dusty landscape. The TV spot released last year prior to the release of the second trailer expanded on this version of the world with The Man of Steel unmasking the Dark Knight.
The fan theories surrounding this vision have suggested that this is either a nightmare for Bruce Wayne, showing what a world would be like if Superman were to roam free unopposed, or it’s a future vision of The Justice League’s fight with Darkseid. Well, the action figure for the movie released by Mattel is certainly confirming one of those.

The Amazon.com listing for the figure calls him “Future Showdown Batman”, which would seem to confirm that this is a future vision for The Dark Knight, however, the Funko POP! Vinyl figure names him “Knightmare Batman”, and that also ties into the theme ‘Knightmare’ from the film’s official soundtrack.
Either way, this certainly seems to confirm that this is a Bruce Wayne vision. But is it a vision of Superman’s reign, or Darkseid’s?
