Arnold Schwarzenegger says he’ll be back for Terminator 6

March 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Last year, Paramount Pictures hoped to revitalise the Terminator franchise with the release of Terminator Genisys, which was envisioned as the first of a new trilogy of movies… until it’s somewhat disappointing box office returns came in.

In January, it was reported that the studio had decided to pull the plug on the sixth Terminator movie, which was going by the rather silly title of Terminator 2, and was slated for release in May 2017 – a date now occupied by the Baywatch reboot.

Well, it seems that Paramount may have had a change of heart, or forgot to send Arnold Schwarzenegger the memo, as the action icon has told Australia’s Channel 9 (via The Telegraph) that a sixth movie is going ahead, and that: “I am looking forward to it, absolutely.”

Despite being mauled by critics and bombing hard in the States, Terminator Genisys did perform well internationally, particularly in the rapidly-growing Chinese market, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if we do see the continuation of the franchise.

Would you like to see Arnold back as the T-800 for a sixth Terminator movie? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
