Earlier today we reported on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s record-breaking domestic opening weekend of $170.1 million, and now the full worldwide figures are in, with the Zack Snyder-helmed DC epic adding a further $254 million internationally for a whopping $424.1 million worldwide haul.
That figure is the biggest of all time for a superhero movie, and the fourth biggest ever behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 ($482.2 million), Jurassic World ($524.9 million) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($529 million).
For comparison, the biggest worldwide opening for a Marvel movie is $392.5 million, earned by both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, while the previous best for a DC offering was The Dark Knight Rises with $248.9 million.
