It may be struggling when it comes to reviews, but Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice got off to a fine start at the domestic box office yesterday, crushing Fast & Furious 7’s Easter preview night record of $15.7 million with $27.7 million in receipts.
That figure is the sixth biggest preview night takings of all time, and surpasses Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron ($27.6 million), The Avengers ($18.7 million) and Iron Man 3 ($15.6 million), as well as midnight showings of The Dark Knight ($18.5 million).
Current projections for Batman v Superman are pointing to a $160 million domestic opening weekend, and $350 million worldwide.
