Marvel has enjoyed great success so far on Netflix, with Daredevil and Jessica Jones earning acclaims from fans and critics alike, and Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders still to come.
There have been rumours that Netflix is keen to extend its Marvel output – with the likes of The Punisher, Thunderbolts and Moon Knight mentioned as possibilities – and now Jeremy Renner has revealed that he’d be open to bringing Hawkeye to the streaming service.
“I think that’s actually a really great model, if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world,” said Renner when asked at the Silicon Valley Comic Con about the possibility of a Hawkeye series on Netflix (via Comic Book). “These are things that are really not in my control, but I’d be open to it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you’re doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I’d be open to it. Not up to me, though.”
Renner was also asked whether he’d have any interest in teaming up with Scarlett Johansson for a Hawkeye and Black Widow movie: “In a second,” he responded. “I’d love to do that.”
