One film project Warner Bros. and DC have tried to make over the last few years is Lobo, featuring the intergalactic bounty hunter who has a penchant for violence and smoking cigars. It looks like the film will finally be made as WB has hired Wonder Woman scribe Jason Fuchs to pen the screenplay.
Lobo was last in development in 2012, when WB hired San Andreas director Brad Peyton to re-write a script and ultimately direct the film. That project was eventually shelved, presumably so WB could focus on setting up the DC Extended Universe with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and its other heroes.
Fuchs will apparently be starting fresh will his own ideas for Lobo. No word on when exactly they want to release the film, but given that WB have announced tentative dates for most of its superhero line-up, things may have to be shuffled around similar to what we’ve seen at Marvel recently. It should be no surprise WB has put renewed energy into Lobo considering Deadpool’s massive success as they’d want to make their own edgy movie about a bounty hunter, but there’s also no word if this film will be rated R. Either way, we have more to look forward to in the DCEU with the addition of Lobo.
