Yesterday we saw the final trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse, which closed with a shot of Wolverine’s adamantium claws, seemingly revealing that Hugh Jackman will once again be reprising the role of Logan for the upcoming mutant superhero sequel.
Asked by Empire whether the shot can be taken as confirmation that Jackman will cameo in the movie (something which has previously been denied), director Bryan Singer decided to keep his cards close to his chest with a rather cryptic response:
“Make of that what you want. I will say, it’s not simple. There’s something more pivotal that occurs with that. It hints to a sequence that again fits within the canon of all six movies, and the birth of a new direction. It’s not insignificant, nor is it simply just a throw-in.”
Pressed for more information as to the owner of said claws, Singer teased that: “It’s not the only shot you’re gonna see, let’s put it that way.”
So, who do the claws belong to? It’s Hugh Jackman, sure, right?
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 18th in the UK and May 27th in the States.
