After rumours linking him to a role in the upcoming Sony Pictures remake of Jumanji, Dwayne Johnson (Baywatch) has taken to Instagram today to confirm his involvement in the film.

Johnson will reportedly film the new version after his work on Fast & Furious 8, which is scheduled to shoot during this summer, and his hit HBO show Ballers, which is set for a third season. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) is directing, while Scott Rosenberg (Con Air) has written the script.
The original Jumanji was released in 1995 and grossed over $262 million worldwide. Directed by Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger), it starred the late Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth and David Alan Grier.
Jumanji is set for release on July 28th, 2017.
