Earlier this month it was revealed that Sony had registered the domain SpiderManHomecomingTheMovie.com, prompting speculation that the title for Sony and Marvel’s 2017 Spider-Man reboot had been uncovered.
Well, it’s now official, as Sony motion picture chairman Tom Rothman has revealed that CinemaCon that the film is going by the title of Spider-Man: Homecoming, which he said has a “high school ring to it”, but also that “Peter Parker is trying to find his way home.”

As part of the presentation, new wall-crawler Tom Holland showcased some footage – presumably from Captain America: Civil War – which saw Peter and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) paying a visit to Aunt May’s (Marisa Tomei) house, where Tony tells May that Peter has applied for a special grant and has been accepted.
Jon Watts (Cop Car) is directing Spider-Man: Homecoming, which will see Holland and Tomei appearing alongside Zendaya as Michelle. Characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are also confirmed to appear.
Spider-Man: Homecoming will open on July 7th 2017, while Tom Holland will debut as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, which is set for release on April 29th in the UK and May 6th in the States.
