Alden Ehrenreich is the new Han Solo

May 6, 2016 by James Garcia

After several months of casting rumors and a search that included over 2,500 actors, we finally have our new Han Solo: Hail, Caesar! star Alden Ehrenreich.

The news was first reported by PageSix, and then further confirmed by trades such as THR and TheWrap. Ehrenreich will of course fill the iconic shoes originally worn by Harrison Ford, and is actually the third recent Coen Brothers film alum to land a Star Wars role, following Inside Llewyn Davis stars Oscar Isaac and Adam Driver.

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, from a script by The Empire Strikes Back scribe Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon, the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Anthology Film will blast into our galaxy on May 25, 2018. The film will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy.
