As Marvel likes to remind us, when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, everything is connected. However, that isn’t always apparent when it comes to ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., with the show having enjoyed relatively few cameo appearances from the big screen side of the MCU, and the movies yet to reference any of the developments on the series.
Speaking at Wizard World Des Moines this past weekend (via Bleeding Cool), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet had some rather harsh words about the interconnected universe when asked why we haven’t seen appearances from any of the Avengers, and whether she’d like to make the jump to the big screen:
“I don’t know. People who make movies for Marvel, why don’t you acknowledge what happens on our show? Why don’t you guys go ask them that? Cause they don’t seem to care! The Marvel Cinematic Universe loves to pretend that everything is connected, but then they don’t acknowledge our show at all. So, I would love to do [appear in a movie], but they don’t seem to keen on that idea.”
Joss Whedon, co-creator of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has previously spoke about the show’s place in the MCU, stating that “the entire series is just a fever dream” and “as far as I’m concerned in the films, [Coulson] is dead.”
