Fox scored a huge ratings hit earlier this year as it reopened The X-Files for a limited series, reuniting creator Chris Carter with stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
Both Carter and the network have already expressed interest in more adventures for FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully, and now FOX CEO Dana Walden has confirmed that conversations are underway with the trio:
“I believe everyone is on board to do another installment of the show,” said Walden during a conference call to discuss the network’s 2016-17 schedule (via TV Line). “Hopefully, this time next year we will have more news.”
So, judging from Walden’s comments, should we get another X-Files series, it won’t be until at least 2017, and possibly even later.
