TV Line is reporting that Chris Wood has joined the cast of Supergirl for its second season, with the containment and The Vampire Diaries star set to portray an as-yet-unrevealed character from the pages of DC Comics.

Wood joins an ever-expanding cast of supporting characters to Melissa Benoist’s Kara Zor-El, with season two set to see the addition of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, and Lynda Carter as the President of the United States.
Rumours are also circulating that The CW would like to introduce Batman, Batwoman and Oracle to the show, which it acquired earlier this year after CBS opted against a renewal.
