ABC president reveals more Marvel shows planned, explains why network passed on Marvel’s Most Wanted

August 5, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It may have pulled the plug on Agent Carter and passed on the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff Marvel’s Most Wanted, but ABC certainly isn’t looking to sever its ties with Marvel Television, as network president Channing Dungey has revealed that there are still plans for future shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“We all came to an agreement that the next show that we want to do together is something that is as creatively strong as it can be,” said Dungey, who then went on to reveal why the network passed on Marvel’s Most Wanted, and suggested it may find a new home on another network: “Most Wanted, ultimately at the end of the day, did not feel as strong as some of the other pilots that we shot. It was a joint partnership between Marvel and ABC Studios. We certainly are open if they are to find another home for it to have that happen.”

Just yesterday, Dungey also revealed that ABC is in early talks with Lucasfilm about bringing Star Wars to the small screen. Read our report here.
