Deadline is reporting that following a bidding war, FX has snapped up the sci-fi comedy project Singularity, placing a pilot order for the show, which has been developed by Sonny Lee (Silicon Valley) and producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (Preacher).
Based on an idea by Lee, the pilot is reportedly similar in tone to Rogen and Goldberg’s This Is the End and takes place in a future where artificial intelligence has greatly surpassed human intelligence, resulting in profound changes to our society.
The project becomes the latest small screen venture for Rogen and Goldberg after AMC’s Preacher and the Hulu pilot Future Man, while they are also attached to an adaptation of Garth Ennis’ The Boys alongside Supernatural’s Eric Kripke.
