MGM is developing a remake of the 1988 Steve Martin / Michael Caine comedy Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, with Variety reporting that Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect, Grimsby) is attached to star.
The site reports that the remake will present a modern day take on the material and follows “two female scam artists, one low rent and the other high class, who compete to swindle a naive tech prodigy out of his fortune.”
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels becomes the second 80s comedy remake to have Wilson attached, with the actress also on board to star in an updated version of 1980’s Private Benjamin.
