Fresh off of his new hit and return to form, Split, M. Night Shyamalan has made public his plans to make a sequel to the 2000 Bruce Willis starrer Unbreakable.
The director who is best known for his film’s twists and turns has been in the wilderness in recent years, not seeing the popularity and acclaim that he once enjoyed, but with Split opening to impressive figures last weekend, Shyamalan suddenly has some heat.
It looks like the director plans on taking advantage of this and is eyeing up the proposed sequel which he claims will be his next movie. Speaking to Uproxx, he said on the topic, “I do intend on making a final Unbreakable movie and I’m intending on doing it next.”
Unbreakable was Shyamalan’s take on a superhero movie and while not as lauded as his breakthrough film The Sixth Sense, it did well at the box office and legitimised him as a real force in the industry.
