Rumour: Pilot for DC TV series Black Lightning films in March

January 28, 2017 by James Garcia

Since it was given a pilot commitment last September, not much has been heard of DC television series Black Lightning, from CW DC TV mastermind Greg Berlanti. While there’s still no news on potential casting for the show, a new report from My Entertainment World (via Omega Underground) claims that production on the pilot will begin in New Orleans in March.

While the show may be in the works from Berlanti, the man behind the wave of successful DC shows like Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and Legends of Tomorrow on the CW, Black Lightning will reportedly not connect to the larger and ever-growing “Arrowverse.” Fox does air two DC shows of its own – Gotham and Lucifer, but any connections there are unlikely.

Hopefully, with production on the pilot just around the corner, we’ll have more news on this series soon.
