Godzilla: King of Monsters, the sequel to Gareth Edwards 2014 film Godzilla and the next step in Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse after Kong: Skull Island, has found its first cast member. Legendary announced late yesterday Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star as Eleven in Stranger Things, has joined the film in an unknown role.
Michael Dougherty is currently writing the script with Zach Shields, with Dougherty also handling directing duties. The sequel’s plot is still under wraps, but it has been hinted audiences will see more classic monsters from the older Godzilla films like Mothra and Rodan. The sequel will also lay the groundwork for 2020’s Godzilla vs. Kong.
Godzilla: King of Monsters hits theaters March 22nd, 2019 while Kong: Skull Island comes out in just a few weeks on March 10th, 2017.
