Fox’s sci-fi mystery series Wayward Pines has been in limbo since its season two finale this past summer, with the network yet to make an official announcement on its future, leading many to assume that the plug had been pulled on the M. Night Shyamalan-produced show.
Well, it seems that Wayward Pines may have a future after all, with FOX entertainment president David Madden revealing at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the series has not been cancelled, but won’t be returning this year.
“Wayward is not canceled, but it will not be on this summer,” said Madden. “Wayward didn’t come together quickly enough for us to have it this summer; there have been discussions about casting. We’re still talking about it, it’s possible you’ll see Wayward at some point back on Fox. But we are focusing a little bit more heavily on unscripted this summer.”
