Nicole Kidman in talks to join Aquaman

February 1, 2017 by James Garcia

It looks like Nicole Kidman could be returning to the DC film universe. According to THR, the Batman Forever actress and Academy Award winner is in talks to star in Aquaman as the mother to the titular King of Atlantis.

Kidman is currently in talks for the role, and has been director James Wan’s top choice “for weeks, with an official offer finally going out yesterday.” If she takes the role, she’ll play Atlanna, who leaves the kingdom of Atlantis and falls in love with a lighthouse keeper.

This comes hot off the heels of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s casting as Black Manta, Aquaman’s classic arch-nemesis.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman arrives on October 5th, 2018 and is currently gearing up for production. It stars Jason Momoa as the titular hero, along with Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, and Willem Dafoe as Dr. Vulko.
